The success of the Seaside General Plan update depends on community participation. Your input will help decision-makers make choices that will affect the quality of life and economic vitality of your community!
There are a many ways to get involved and stay informed about the Seaside General Plan update. The City has and will host a series of community workshops and meetings, focus groups, and a General Plan Task Force to guide the planning process. The City Council and Planning Commission will also hold meetings to discuss the General Plan update.
Art, Urban Design & Aesthetics Survey
The City of Seaside is asking for your preferences regarding public art, urban design, and aesthetics. Your feedback is important to helping us identify the types of concepts you'd like to see in your City. You can take the survey by clicking here.
Workshops and Open Houses
The City of Seaside is hosting a series of public meetings to develop the vision, guiding principles, and policies for the General Plan. Your input is critical to ensure that the plan reflects the community’s vision and goals for the future quality of life and economic vitality of your City.
Upcoming Community Meetings
Workshop #3 will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at the Oldemeyer Center. This community workshop will address the intersection of health and sustainability and is an opportunity to join the conversation and make our City more healthy, sustainable, and resilient in the future. Commission + Council Presentations
The Community Engagement Plan was presented to the Seaside City Council on March 17, 2016. The presentation can be found by clicking here.
Joint Planning Commission / City Council Meeting
On March 30th, 2017, a special joint City Council and Planning Commission meeting was held to confirm the vision and intent for City subareas, including proposed land use designations, and proposed circulation networks.
On October 27, 2016, Planning Commission and City Council provided input on the preliminary draft Vision and Guiding Principles and areas where development and land use change could occur within the City over the next 20 to 30 years.

General Plan Task Force
The General Plan Task Force consists of approximately 20 members who will provide feedback and guidance in informing the development of the General Plan vision, policies, and implementing actions. The Task Force members represent a diverse range of interest groups within the City. As meetings occur, the information will be posted above.
